The Berg Lake trail is a world-renowned back-country hiking trail
The trail starts at the Robson River 2 kilometers from the Mount Robson info center. This trail takes hikers to some of the best scenery in the province of British Columbia in the heart of Mount Robson Provincial Park. The trail climbs gradually alongside the Robson River for 4.2 kilometres (2.6 miles) before reaching Kinney Lake. This wonderful trail winds through the rainforest with stunning old cedar trees and lush vegetation typical for Mount Robson. Private picnic tables over-viewing Kinney Lake make a wonderful spot for a picnic. This amazing hiking trail up Mt Robson can be enjoyed by young and old and it is a fairly easy 1.5 hours hike to Kinney Lake.
After reaching Kinney Lake flats the trail starts climbing up through the Valley of a Thousand Falls at Mount Robson. After several kilometers the trail crosses the Robson River on a suspension bridge. At this point the trail starts a steep climb with numerous switchbacks and is not suitable for the faint of heart. Over the next few kilometers, the trail passes White Falls, Falls-of-the-Pool and Emperor Falls.
Once you have made it above the Valley of thousand falls, the trail levels off and dips down toward the river, providing the first teasing glimpses of the Emperor Face of Mount Robson. From here the trail continues 3km and get’s easier and more leveled to hike, until reaching the shores of Berg Lake in Mt Robson Provincial Park BC.
